A bit of research into editorial design/layout ideas. The idea of using an overlapping translucent layer over a photo is what really caught my eye here, as I feel this is something which could work with my project. Instead of having text directly in my photographs, I could have a have a translucent text layer page over the photographs to reveal key information (such as the subjects actual occupation/what job they ended up doing). This could be quite effective if pulled off well enough, and could add an interactive element to my book. I am not sure on the printing and binding contraints of this idea at this point.
